About Château de Bagatelle

Château de Bagatelle is a small neoclassical château located in the Bois de Boulogne, a large park in the west of Paris. It was built in just 64 days in 1777 at the request of the Comte d'Artois, who would later become King Charles X of France. The château was intended to be a hunting lodge and pleasure pavilion, and was designed by the architect François-Joseph Bélanger. The château is surrounded by a large English-style garden, which includes a large pond, several smaller lakes, and numerous fountains and statues. The garden was also designed by Bélanger, and is considered one of the best examples of an English garden in France. Today, the château is open to the public and houses the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (Museum of Hunting and Nature), which includes exhibits on hunting, fishing, and nature conservation. The museum also features a collection of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. Château de Bagatelle is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Visitors can stroll through the gardens, admire the architecture of the château, and learn about the history of hunting and nature in France.
