About Château de Bioule

Château de Bioule is a historic castle located in the commune of Bioule in the Tarn-et-Garonne department of France. The castle was built in the 12th century by the Lords of Bioule and was later rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries. It was used as a military fortress during the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. The castle was constructed with a defensive system featuring walls, towers and a moat. The main tower of the castle, known as the "Tour de la Reine Margot" (Queen Margot's Tower), was built in the 16th century and is named after Marguerite de Valois, wife of King Henry IV. Today, the Château de Bioule is open to the public and features a museum with exhibits on the history of the castle and the surrounding region. Visitors can also take guided tours of the castle, explore the gardens and enjoy a variety of cultural events that take place on the castle grounds throughout the year. The Château de Bioule is a popular tourist destination and is recognized as a national monument of France. It is a great place to visit for history buffs and anyone interested in learning more about the medieval period in France.
