About Château de Blancafort
Château de Blancafort is a medieval castle located in the commune of Blancafort in the Cher department of France. The castle was built during the 12th century and has since undergone multiple renovations and reconstructions over the years. During the Hundred Years' War, the castle was attacked and partially destroyed by the English. It was later rebuilt in the 15th century in the Renaissance style by Charles II, Duke of Bourbon. The castle was again partially destroyed during the French Revolution, but was restored in the 19th century by the new owner, Alexandre Dumas. Today, the castle is open to visitors and features a variety of exhibitions and events, including tours of the castle's interior, a medieval garden, and a collection of antique carriages.
