About Château de Bridoré
In the Indre-et-Loire, south of Loches, the Château de Bridoré is a fine medieval fortress that has kept much of its warlike character, guarded by a strong keep, round towers and old defensive works. Dating largely from the 14th and 15th centuries and once linked to the famous soldier Imbert de Batarnay, adviser to kings, this atmospheric castle rises above its village, its powerful silhouette recalling the age of the Hundred Years' War. Restored and open to visitors, it evokes the daily life and defences of a medieval stronghold.
