About Château de Sercy

The Château de Sercy is a historic castle located in the commune of Sercy in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in France. The castle was constructed during the 13th century by the Sercy family and was later inherited by the Rougemont family in the 16th century. The castle is built in the Gothic style and is surrounded by a moat. The castle has had several owners over the centuries and has undergone numerous renovations and additions. During the 18th century, the castle was refurbished in the neoclassical style and a chapel was added to the castle. The castle was also the site of battles during the French Revolution and suffered significant damage. In the 19th century, the castle was restored and became the home of the Parigot family. The castle features a number of interesting architectural details, including a grand staircase, a chapel with stained glass windows, and a vaulted cellar. Today, the castle is open to the public and visitors can take a guided tour of the castle and its gardens. The castle is also used for weddings and other events.
