About Château de Vaire
Château de Vaire is a castle located in the commune of Vaire, in the Doubs department of eastern France. It was built in the 18th century in the classic French style and features a main building with two wings, surrounded by a moat and set in a large park. The chateau was built by the architect Jean-Pierre Galezot for a wealthy family named Fauche. The Fauche family lived in the chateau until the early 19th century, after which it passed through several hands, including a period of use as a convent. In the 20th century, the chateau was converted into a hotel and restaurant, and it remains a popular destination for tourists visiting the Franche-Comté region. The interior of the chateau has been restored and features a mix of traditional and modern decor. The park surrounding the chateau includes a large lake and a variety of gardens. Visitors to the chateau can take guided tours of the interior, which includes a collection of antique furniture and art, or simply enjoy the natural beauty of the park and gardens.
