About Trois Châteaux d'Eguisheim

On a wooded ridge above the enchanting wine village of Eguisheim in Alsace, the Three Castles of Eguisheim rise side by side, their three tall keeps forming one of the most distinctive silhouettes of the Vosges skyline. Built in the Middle Ages by the lords of Eguisheim, these three neighbouring towers — Dagsbourg, Wahlenbourg and Weckmund — once guarded the region and its vineyards, and though now ruined, their square keeps still stand proud above the forest. Reached by a lovely walk up through the vines, they offer atmospheric ruins and superb views over Eguisheim, Colmar and the plain of Alsace. Romantic, historic and beautifully sited, the Three Castles of Eguisheim are a striking landmark and a rewarding stop above one of the most beautiful villages of the Alsace Wine Route, a fine trio of medieval ruins crowning the vineyards.
