Cards for the Parisian metro

Our advice if you decide to visit Paris for one or several days:
Ticket t+2.10€ per use (one ticket valid for 1h30).

The “île de France, Easy Navigo” pass is a card you can buy and load digital ticket on it, in almost every metro station.

Each metro line in Paris has its own number and color. Furthermore, each of these lines has only 2 directions of travel.
To better understand the Paris metro system, it is necessary to know the direction you are heading :

  1. To do this, simply look at where you are when you enter the metro (look at the name of the metro station you are at).
  2. Look at the name of the metro station you want to reach.
  3. Once you know where you want to go, you now need to look at the name of the very last metro station,  as if you were going to the terminus.
  4. The direction of the Paris metros is determined based on their terminus.

Pay Attention

Cases in the street:

– Even though street vendors are tolerated, it is still technically illegal to buy counterfeit products from them instead of reputable stores or official boutiques.

– Avoid walking alone at night in the streets, except in tourist areas. While it’s a big city, it is still advisable to remain vigilant.

– Always prefer to withdraw money inside a bank rather than on the street.
– Always hide your secret code of Credit Card when you pay.

– Avoid wearing overly flashy or conspicuous valuable items or openly displaying money in public.

– Avoid leaving valuable items in your hotel room. Use the available safes or ask the front desk to keep them secure.

In the Public Transport:

– We advise you to wear your backpacks in front of you.

– If you are wearing a fanny pack, always keep a hand on it.

– Do not use your Mobile when the Metro’s gates are opened.

During a walk outsite:

Trap 1: If you are approached by someone trying to get you to sign a document, refuse firmly and persistently.

Trap 2: If you are approached by someone offering to give you an item that appears valuable, refuse at all costs. The person will insist as much as possible.

If the object ends up in your hand, let it fall to the ground in front of their eyes and move on. Do not accept any object from them under any circumstances.

Airport of Paris

Taxi: From Airport to Paris /or/ Paris to Airpot, whatever the numbers of passengers and luggages, the price is the same. You have to pay 55€ until 62€.

It is preferable to ask for the fare of the ride before getting into the taxi to prevent scams.

Things to do in France

Tip: it’s a good thing to give 10% of your meal price in money at the end of it.
Bonjour: always say “bonjour” in the first place, when you enter in a boutique or before to ask something to someone.
Bonsoir: same for “bonjour” but when the night comes.

Excusez-moi: as an “Excuse me”.
Pardon: as a “Sorry”.
Hold the door for the next person if there are some people behind you.
