About Villa Domergue Art center
Perched on a hillside overlooking the bay of Cannes, the Villa Domergue is an enchanting Italianate villa set in beautiful terraced gardens, built in the 1930s by the painter Jean-Gabriel Domergue, famous for his elegant portraits of fashionable women. Inspired by Florentine architecture, the villa and its gardens — with cypresses, fountains, pools and sculptures cascading down the slope — form a harmonious work of art with sweeping views over the sea and the town. Now owned by the city, it serves as an art centre and exhibition space, and hosts events during the Cannes Film Festival. Elegant, romantic and beautifully sited, the Villa Domergue offers a rare glimpse of Riviera glamour and the refined taste of its creator, a peaceful and picturesque cultural haven above the bustle of the famous resort of Cannes.
