About Aiguilles de Bavella
Jagged spires of golden-grey granite bursting from a sea of pine and maquis, the Aiguilles de Bavella are among the most spectacular landscapes in Corsica. Framed by the high Bavella pass in the island's wild south, these "needles" glow orange at sunset and draw walkers, climbers and canyoners from around the world. A section of the famous GR20 threads beneath them, while gentler trails lead to viewpoints and to the celebrated Trou de la Bombe, a great natural window pierced through the rock. Below, clear mountain streams carve pools perfect for a summer plunge. Guarded by a statue of Our Lady of the Snows at the pass, the Aiguilles de Bavella are a granite cathedral at the heart of the Corsican mountains.
