About Baie de Morlaix

On the north coast of Finistère, the Baie de Morlaix is a beautiful, island-studded bay where wooded estuaries open onto a maze of rocks, sandbanks and clear tidal channels. Its emblem is the Château du Taureau, a squat 16th-century fortress built on a rocky islet to guard the approach to the port of Morlaix, now open to visitors by boat. Around the bay lie oyster and shellfish beds, the elegant seaside resort of Carantec and long sandy beaches revealed by the great tides. Sailors, kayakers and walkers explore its sheltered waters and coastal paths, and birds throng its islets and flats. Gentle, historic and richly indented, the Baie de Morlaix is one of the most charming corners of the Breton coast.
