About Baie de Quiberon

Sheltered behind the long, narrow Quiberon peninsula in southern Brittany, the Baie de Quiberon is a broad, calm bay of blue water and golden light, in complete contrast to the wave-battered Côte Sauvage on the ocean side of the same headland. Its protected waters are a paradise for sailing, sea-kayaking and oyster-farming, and ferries slip out from Quiberon toward the islands of Belle-Île, Houat and Hœdic. Around the shore lie sandy beaches, whitewashed ports and menhir-strewn heaths, while the wild western cliffs offer dramatic walks above crashing surf. Combining safe, sunlit bathing bays with untamed Atlantic drama on its far side, the Baie de Quiberon is one of the most varied and beloved stretches of the Breton coast.
