About Cascade de la Pissoire
Tucked away in the wooded high valleys of the Vosges near Ban-sur-Meurthe-Clefcy, the Cascade de la Pissoire is a wild, little-visited waterfall much loved by those who seek out the quieter corners of the massif. A mountain stream slips and tumbles down a staircase of dark, mossy rock through dense spruce forest, best seen in spring or after heavy rain when the flow is strong. A short forest path leads to the foot of the falls, deep in cool green shade. Far from the busier sites around Gérardmer, the Pissoire offers a genuine taste of the wild, damp, fern-filled woodland that gives the Hautes-Vosges their special atmosphere — a peaceful reward for walkers who like to explore off the beaten track.
