About Cascade de Sillans
Hidden in green Provençal countryside in the village that takes its name from it — Sillans-la-Cascade — this waterfall drops around 42 metres over a curtain of tufa into a pool of astonishing emerald and turquoise. Fed by the river Bresque and framed by dense riverside woodland, it is one of the most photogenic falls in the Var. A short, shady footpath leads from the village to a viewing platform facing the cascade; swimming in the pool is forbidden to protect the fragile site, but the view alone is worth the walk. Cool and luminous even at the height of a Provençal summer, the Cascade de Sillans is an unexpected jewel of falling water in the sunbaked hills between Aix and the Verdon.
