About Cascade des Anglais
A cool, granite-bound string of falls and clear pools in the pine forests of central Corsica, the Cascade des Anglais lies near Vivario, just below the Vizzavona pass, and takes its name from the British travellers who once holidayed in the mountain village nearby. A short, easy walk from the road along a section of the famous GR20 leads to the cascades, where the mountain stream slides over smooth grey rock into inviting turquoise basins — a hugely popular spot for a summer swim, shaded by tall Laricio pines. Higher up, the trail climbs on toward the peaks. Refreshing, scenic and easily reached, the Cascade des Anglais is one of the best-loved natural bathing spots in the Corsican interior.
