About Côte d'Émeraude

Stretching along the north Breton coast from Cancale to Cap Fréhel, the Côte d'Émeraude takes its name from the shifting green of its sea, at its most vivid under the great tides that sweep this shore. It is a coast of dramatic contrasts: the walled corsair city of Saint-Malo and its elegant neighbour Dinard, long sandy beaches and rock-bound coves, and the wild finale of Cap Fréhel, whose pink sandstone cliffs plunge to the sea beneath a lighthouse and the medieval Fort la Latte. Between them lie oyster ports, seaside resorts and the celebrated coastal path. Combining historic towns, luminous beaches and clifftop drama beneath ever-changing skies, the Côte d'Émeraude is one of the most beloved seasides in Brittany.
