About Côte d'Opale

Facing England across the narrowest stretch of the Channel, the Côte d'Opale takes its name from the pearly, ever-shifting light that plays over its wide skies and sea. This is a coast of grand horizons: immense sandy beaches swept by the wind and perfect for sand-yachting and kitesurfing, backed by rolling dunes and the two great chalk headlands of Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, from whose cliffs the white cliffs of Dover can be seen on a clear day. Fishing ports and lively resorts like Boulogne-sur-Mer, Wimereux and Le Touquet line the shore. Bracing, luminous and gloriously open, the Côte d'Opale offers some of the most dramatic seascapes and skies in northern France.
