About Forêt de Chantilly

Wrapped around the fairy-tale Château de Chantilly north of Paris, the Forêt de Chantilly is a splendid domain of oak, beech and hornbeam long shaped by the princely families who hunted here on horseback. This is the heartland of French horse culture: the great racecourse, the monumental stables and the training grounds all border the forest, and the crack of hooves is never far away. Straight rides radiate from grand crossroads, ponds and heaths break the trees, and walkers, cyclists and riders share hundreds of kilometres of paths. Combining elegant woodland, sandy heaths and one of the most beautiful château-and-forest ensembles in France, Chantilly offers a graceful, aristocratic escape a short train ride from the capital.
