About Grotte de Bèze
In the village of Bèze in the Côte-d'Or, some thirty kilometres from Dijon, the Grotte de Bèze offers one of the most unusual cave visits in Burgundy — an underground boat trip along a subterranean river. Explored by dinghy through flooded galleries, the cave is the resurgence of a hidden water system, its clear green waters filling caverns beneath the pretty riverside village. Visitors glide silently between rock walls and low arches, torchlight glinting on the still water, in an atmosphere of cool mystery quite different from the usual walk-through show-cave.
