About Grotte du Bosc

Near Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val on the edge of the Tarn-et-Garonne, the Grotte du Bosc is a fine fossil cave that follows the course of a long-vanished underground river, its single main gallery running deep and level into the hillside. Along its walls hang beautiful white concretions, delicate aragonite crystals and curious eccentric formations that seem to defy gravity, while a small on-site museum displays minerals, fossils and cave fauna. Discovered in the 19th century and gently developed for visitors, the cave offers an intimate, well-guided introduction to the underground world of the Quercy causses. Cool, richly decorated and easy to explore, the Grotte du Bosc is a pleasant natural discovery in one of the most beautiful valleys of southern France.
