About Lac de Biscarrosse et de Parentis
Stretching behind the great dunes of the Landes coast, the Lac de Biscarrosse et de Parentis is a vast freshwater lake fringed by pine forest and golden beaches. Warm, calm and shallow along its edges, it is ideal for family swimming, sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and paddleboarding, and its sunset skies are a local institution. The lake played a pioneering role in early aviation, when Latécoère flying boats were tested and built on its shores — a story told in a dedicated seaplane museum nearby. Linked by canals to neighbouring lakes and only a few kilometres from the Atlantic surf, Biscarrosse offers the classic Landes holiday blend: forest, freshwater and ocean all within easy reach.
