About Lac de Madine
Set within the Lorraine Regional Nature Park at the foot of the Côtes de Meuse, the Lac de Madine is a broad, gentle lake beloved of families, sailors and birdwatchers. Its supervised beaches, safe swimming and calm bays make it one of the region's top summer spots, while a flat 20-kilometre cycle path loops the entire shore. The reed beds and islands are a haven for waterfowl, and the lake sits on the edge of the sombre First World War battlefields of the Saint-Mihiel salient, whose memorials lie just minutes away.
