About Lac de Saint-Point
High in the Doubs near the Swiss border, the Lac de Saint-Point is one of the largest natural lakes in France, stretching for some seven kilometres along a broad Jura valley near the village of Malbuisson. Ringed by pine forest and gentle mountains, it offers warm-season swimming, sailing, windsurfing and a flat lakeside path popular with walkers and cyclists. In winter the region turns white and the surrounding plateau becomes a hub for cross-country skiing. The nearby source of the Doubs and the Gorges du Fer complete a landscape of clear water and fresh mountain air. Peaceful and family-friendly, Saint-Point is the kind of unhurried highland lake where the seasons, not the crowds, set the pace.
