About Lac des Settons
In the wooded heart of the Morvan Regional Nature Park, the Lac des Settons is a much-loved reservoir built in the 19th century to help float timber down to Paris. Ringed by dark forest and dotted with small islands, it has become the leisure hub of the Morvan, with supervised beaches, sailing, pedal boats, kayaks and a flat lakeside path popular with walkers, runners and cyclists. Lakeside inns and terraces overlook the water, and the surrounding hills offer some of the best walking and mountain-biking in Burgundy. Peaceful and pretty in every season — misty in spring, golden in autumn — the Settons is the kind of gentle, green lake that has drawn Burgundian holidaymakers for generations.
