About Lac du Bourget
The largest natural lake of glacial origin lying entirely within France, Lake Bourget stretches beneath the mountains of Savoie beside the spa town of Aix-les-Bains. Immortalised by the Romantic poet Lamartine, its serene waters, watched over by the great Hautecombe Abbey on the far shore, invite boating, swimming and lakeside walks.
