About Plage de l'Espiguette

On the edge of the Camargue near Le Grau-du-Roi, the Plage de l'Espiguette is one of the last great wild beaches of the French Mediterranean — a vast, untamed expanse of pale sand and shifting dunes stretching for kilometres beneath huge southern skies. Reached across a landscape of marram grass, sea holly and tamarisk, backed by protected dunes rather than resorts, it feels a world away from the crowded beaches of the coast. Its shallow warm water and endless sand make it a favourite for those who like their beaches natural and spacious — swimmers, walkers, naturists and kitesurfers all find their place. Watched over by an old lighthouse, the Espiguette is a magnificent slice of wild, unspoilt Camargue shoreline.
