About Plage de Pampelonne
Stretching for some five kilometres of fine golden sand along the Ramatuelle shore near Saint-Tropez, the Plage de Pampelonne is the most famous beach on the French Riviera. Made legendary in the 1950s and 60s by film stars and the jet set, it remains synonymous with Mediterranean glamour, its sands lined with chic beach clubs where the beautiful people lunch and lounge beside the turquoise sea. Yet Pampelonne is also simply a magnificent beach: wide, warm and gently shelving, with public stretches where anyone can spread a towel and swim in clear water beneath the pinewoods and vineyards of the Cap.
