About Plage Notre-Dame
Often voted one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, the Plage Notre-Dame lies on the wild northern shore of the car-free island of Porquerolles, off Hyères, within the Parc national de Port-Cros. A long crescent of fine pale sand curves along a bay of clear, gently shelving turquoise water, framed by fragrant pine and eucalyptus and entirely free of buildings — reached only by a walk or bike ride of a few kilometres through the island's protected interior. That effort keeps it blissfully unspoilt: no beach clubs, no cars, just sand, sea and Mediterranean scrub. Wild, protected and breathtakingly beautiful, the Plage Notre-Dame is the jewel of Porquerolles and one of the loveliest beaches on the entire French Riviera.
