About Bonneville

At the confluence of the rivers Arve and Borne in Haute-Savoie, Bonneville is a pleasant town, the historic capital of the Faucigny region, framed by the mountains at the gateway to the great valleys leading toward Chamonix and Mont Blanc. Overlooking the town from a wooded hill stands its emblem, the Château des Sires de Faucigny with its tall medieval tower, while a monumental column on the riverbank commemorates the region's ties to the House of Savoy. The old town gathers arcaded streets, squares and quays along the Arve, with fine views of the surrounding peaks. A crossroads between lake, mountains and the Arve valley, Bonneville makes a convenient and scenic base for exploring the northern Alps. Historic, well-sited and framed by mountains, it is a pleasant Savoyard town rich in the heritage of the old Faucigny.
