About Brancion
Perched on a hilltop between the vineyards of the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy, Brancion is a tiny and perfectly preserved medieval village, a cluster of old stone houses gathered around a great feudal castle, a covered market hall and a Romanesque church crowning the height. With no cars and barely a handful of inhabitants, this fortified hamlet feels frozen in the Middle Ages, its lanes leading to ramparts and viewpoints over the wooded hills and vineyards of Burgundy.
