About Cassis

Between Marseille and the vineyards of Provence, Cassis is one of the most beautiful little ports on the Mediterranean, a cluster of pastel houses gathered around a picturesque harbour full of fishing and pleasure boats, beneath the towering ochre-and-white cliffs of Cap Canaille, the highest sea cliffs in France. On one side stretch the spectacular Calanques — narrow fjord-like inlets of turquoise water framed by white limestone — reached by boat or coastal path; on the other, sun-drenched vineyards produce the crisp white wine of Cassis. The lively quayside, lined with cafés and seafood restaurants, buzzes with the easy charm of the Provençal coast. Beautiful, sunlit and framed by cliffs and vineyards, Cassis is a jewel of the Mediterranean, a perfect place to savour sea, wine and the light of Provence.
