About Honfleur
At the mouth of the Seine in Normandy, Honfleur is one of the most enchanting harbour towns in France, famous the world over for its picturesque Vieux Bassin, the old dock ringed by tall, narrow houses clad in slate whose reflections shimmer in the water beside the fishing and pleasure boats. This luminous scene, along with the town's changing skies and estuary light, drew the painters Boudin, Jongkind and Monet and helped give birth to Impressionism.
