About Lussan Village
Perched on a rocky outcrop above the garrigue of the Gard, Lussan is a beautifully preserved fortified village, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, its ring of old stone houses and ramparts encircling a handsome château that now serves as the town hall. From its walls, wide views sweep across the wild scrubland to the distant Cévennes and Mont Ventoux. The village's narrow lanes, dotted with artisan workshops and shaded squares, breathe Provençal calm, while nearby lie the spectacular Concluses gorges, a dry canyon of sculpted rock that can be walked in summer. Wrapped in the scented hills of the Uzège, close to Uzès and the Pont du Gard, Lussan combines medieval charm, panoramic views and wild natural beauty.
