About Obernai

On the Alsace Wine Route at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile, Obernai is one of the most charming towns in Alsace, a delightful ensemble of colourful half-timbered houses, cobbled squares and old ramparts. Its lively central market place, the Place du Marché, is ringed by beautiful Renaissance buildings, a handsome belfry, an old corn hall and a picturesque six-bucket well, all overlooked by the twin spires of a neo-Gothic church. Surrounded by vineyards producing the great white wines of Alsace, the town is famous for its winstubs, its markets and its magical Christmas atmosphere. Wrapped in flowers in summer and lights in winter, steeped in Alsatian tradition and gastronomy, Obernai combines heritage, wine and quintessential Alsatian charm. Colourful, welcoming and beautifully preserved, it is one of the loveliest stops on the Alsace Wine Route.
