On the Pink Granite Coast of northern Brittany, Ploumanac'h is one of the most magical places in the region — famous enough to have been voted the favourite village of the French — where a picturesque little port nestles amid an extraordinary chaos of giant pink granite boulders sculpted by wind and sea into fantastical shapes. The famous coastal customs path, the Sentier des Douaniers, winds among these rose-coloured rocks past hidden coves of clear water to a picture-book lighthouse, itself built of pink granite, glowing especially beautifully at sunset. Part of the resort of Perros-Guirec, the village combines a lovely beach, a tidal mill and this unique rocky landscape.
