About Terre de dragons
Terre de Dragons is an animal park in Civaux, in the Vienne department of western France. Housed largely under a heated tropical greenhouse, it is devoted to reptiles: crocodiles, alligators, caimans and gharials share the site with tortoises, snakes and lizards, presented in planted enclosures and pools. Interpretive panels and keeper talks explain the biology of these animals, their role in tropical ecosystems and the threats they face in the wild. Raised walkways let visitors watch the pools at close range. The park also runs educational activities for families and school groups, and has a shop and a refreshment area.
