About Zoo des Sables d'Olonne
Tucked into a wooded valley just back from the seafront at Les Sables-d'Olonne, this charming zoo makes the most of its natural setting on the Vendée coast, its shaded paths winding through lush vegetation between enclosures. Despite its modest size, it is home to a fine collection of some 300 animals — snow leopards, red pandas, lemurs, gibbons, big cats and many exotic birds — and has earned a strong reputation for the quality of its animal care and its work in breeding endangered species.
